00:00:04.960 00:00:04.970 today all welcome back to ladies garage
00:00:07.849 00:00:07.859 for episode 8 of the turbo SS build on
00:00:12.709 00:00:12.719 this episode we're going to look at
00:00:14.530 00:00:14.540 installing or upgrading the oil coolers
00:00:18.290 00:00:18.300 for both the transmission and the power
00:00:20.810 00:00:20.820 steering now we'll talk about the
00:00:24.470 00:00:24.480 transmission first and why we would
00:00:26.689 00:00:26.699 install the better oil cooler and I can
00:00:29.450 00:00:29.460 promise you the number one reason why an
00:00:31.220 00:00:31.230 automatic transmission will will melt
00:00:33.410 00:00:33.420 down or destroy itself is over
00:00:34.819 00:00:34.829 temperature so keeping those
00:00:37.690 00:00:37.700 transmission temps down is one of the
00:00:40.069 00:00:40.079 major reasons to to keep your automatic
00:00:43.430 00:00:43.440 transmission living and unhappy and
00:00:46.760 00:00:46.770 obviously one of the first upgrades
00:00:49.100 00:00:49.110 would definitely be a nice aluminium
00:00:51.470 00:00:51.480 stall cooler across the front of the
00:00:53.569 00:00:53.579 aisle of the car get nice air flow help
00:00:56.330 00:00:56.340 cool that transmission fluid down from
00:00:59.660 00:00:59.670 factory of the automatic cars they
00:01:01.790 00:01:01.800 actually send the transmission fluid up
00:01:03.319 00:01:03.329 through the end tank of the radiator now
00:01:05.660 00:01:05.670 I'll show you the factory radiator a
00:01:07.340 00:01:07.350 minute we can have a look at how it goes
00:01:09.320 00:01:09.330 through there and another way we can
00:01:11.179 00:01:11.189 actually reduce temperatures of the
00:01:12.620 00:01:12.630 transmission to is a nice thin aluminium
00:01:14.899 00:01:14.909 pen so the airflow underneath the car
00:01:17.719 00:01:17.729 can actually flow past the oil pen and
00:01:20.090 00:01:20.100 help reduce temperatures too and another
00:01:22.460 00:01:22.470 one is actually how you drive it and how
00:01:24.890 00:01:24.900 much you abuse it obviously of having a
00:01:27.710 00:01:27.720 gauge for transmission temp will
00:01:29.060 00:01:29.070 probably help you keep an eye on it but
00:01:31.090 00:01:31.100 just you know respecting the gearbox and
00:01:34.190 00:01:34.200 taking care of it a bit also make the
00:01:36.800 00:01:36.810 the life of the transmission a lot
00:01:38.780 00:01:38.790 longer so what we might do is I'll just
00:01:41.600 00:01:41.610 head outside and we'll have a look at
00:01:42.770 00:01:42.780 the standard setup for the transmission
00:01:46.899 00:01:46.909 and then yeah we'll take for that okay
00:01:50.080 00:01:50.090 this is a standard automatic stall
00:01:54.670 00:01:54.680 radiator for the visa VA Commodore and
00:01:57.880 00:01:57.890 you can see over on the side here these
00:01:59.889 00:01:59.899 two fittings and this is where from the
00:02:02.590 00:02:02.600 factory they pump the transmission fluid
00:02:04.090 00:02:04.100 up into the end tank and then there's a
00:02:07.690 00:02:07.700 little cool relevant something like that
00:02:10.300 00:02:10.310 inside that end tank which gets cooled
00:02:11.920 00:02:11.930 by the water temperature and you can
00:02:14.259 00:02:14.269 sort of see inside there you whatever
00:02:17.770 00:02:17.780 you know like I'll sign from the from
00:02:20.559 00:02:20.569 the factory this would probably be all
00:02:23.259 00:02:23.269 right because you know factory cars
00:02:25.270 00:02:25.280 aren't designed to have high horsepower
00:02:26.890 00:02:26.900 and install converters now stall convert
00:02:29.680 00:02:29.690 always raise the temperature of your oil
00:02:32.080 00:02:32.090 temperature because there's a percentage
00:02:33.160 00:02:33.170 of slip there and that slip definitely
00:02:35.589 00:02:35.599 produces temperature or oil temperature
00:02:38.050 00:02:38.060 so this factory setup will not do you
00:02:42.460 00:02:42.470 know the coolest that the oil can ever
00:02:44.170 00:02:44.180 be really would be the same temperature
00:02:46.180 00:02:46.190 as the water temp so you know it's just
00:02:50.350 00:02:50.360 common knowledge that that's it's not
00:02:51.550 00:02:51.560 good enough so you could just leave
00:02:54.490 00:02:54.500 these fittings off and not even worry
00:02:56.110 00:02:56.120 about them but I'm lucky enough that I
00:02:58.090 00:02:58.100 actually have a manual version of the
00:03:00.099 00:03:00.109 same radiator and out of a manual car
00:03:02.770 00:03:02.780 you can see the radio this different it
00:03:04.150 00:03:04.160 has no oil cooler in there so there'll
00:03:07.240 00:03:07.250 be no intrusion in that in tank no space
00:03:10.539 00:03:10.549 taken up so this will have a tiny bit
00:03:12.129 00:03:12.139 more capacity and you know I've got it
00:03:14.559 00:03:14.569 there so why not use it so that's the
00:03:18.910 00:03:18.920 factory style crew law for the
00:03:21.879 00:03:21.889 transmission I suppose the next thing
00:03:23.979 00:03:23.989 we'll talk about is the power steering
00:03:27.360 00:03:27.370 alright guys now for power steering you
00:03:30.879 00:03:30.889 know even from the factory I'd know if
00:03:32.410 00:03:32.420 you've ever had one of these cars but in
00:03:33.930 00:03:33.940 you know car parks on a really hot
00:03:37.300 00:03:37.310 summer's day and you turn the wheel
00:03:38.770 00:03:38.780 heaps you'll actually notice the power
00:03:40.900 00:03:40.910 steering start to warn even on a
00:03:42.370 00:03:42.380 standing car loved noticed it so the
00:03:46.690 00:03:46.700 factory stole cooler which we will have
00:03:48.729 00:03:48.739 a look at
00:03:49.300 00:03:49.310 he's probably just doing its job just
00:03:52.420 00:03:52.430 enough gonna standing car now if you
00:03:53.800 00:03:53.810 have a look I'm over at the tunnel we'll
00:03:55.060 00:03:55.070 have a look if you go and jam
00:03:59.130 00:03:59.140 a turbo exhaust housing right next to
00:04:02.010 00:04:02.020 the power steering pump obviously that
00:04:04.410 00:04:04.420 power steering pump is going to get
00:04:05.700 00:04:05.710 hotter now even on the timer having this
00:04:08.430 00:04:08.440 pretty silly reservoir made of aluminium
00:04:10.950 00:04:10.960 actually makes it even worse again so I
00:04:13.500 00:04:13.510 actually have problems with power
00:04:15.000 00:04:15.010 steering one especially in traffic once
00:04:18.030 00:04:18.040 once then under engine bay temps go
00:04:20.310 00:04:20.320 through the roof
00:04:21.780 00:04:21.790 of it warning like crazy and I actually
00:04:24.360 00:04:24.370 only have the standard stock cooler past
00:04:27.240 00:04:27.250 here and cooler in this and I know for a
00:04:29.010 00:04:29.020 fact that's it's definitely not good
00:04:31.320 00:04:31.330 enough so I'll actually you can't really
00:04:33.810 00:04:33.820 see it so I'll go back over the SS the
00:04:35.520 00:04:35.530 standard cooler is still in there and
00:04:38.040 00:04:38.050 we'll have a look back at the SS you can
00:04:42.630 00:04:42.640 actually see down in the bottom there
00:04:46.940 00:04:46.950 these are the power steering lines here
00:04:49.650 00:04:49.660 and it pumped around and up through this
00:04:53.360 00:04:53.370 it's aluminium this is an aluminium tube
00:04:56.250 00:04:56.260 aluminum hard line and they've got these
00:04:57.900 00:04:57.910 coils wrapped around it
00:04:59.190 00:04:59.200 now the airflow coming from the front
00:05:01.140 00:05:01.150 would pass through this and definitely
00:05:02.580 00:05:02.590 help cool it a little bit but just not
00:05:05.550 00:05:05.560 quite enough so we actually take all
00:05:08.520 00:05:08.530 this out and we'll replace it with a
00:05:09.930 00:05:09.940 proper little cooler which I'll have a
00:05:11.490 00:05:11.500 look at in a moment now same as the
00:05:14.670 00:05:14.680 tunnel the setup here for the turbos
00:05:16.470 00:05:16.480 an even bigger turbo it's gonna be
00:05:18.570 00:05:18.580 making even more power so I'm guessing
00:05:19.980 00:05:19.990 an even more temperature right here next
00:05:22.380 00:05:22.390 to the power steering pump say my
00:05:25.440 00:05:25.450 predictions will be hot power steering
00:05:27.270 00:05:27.280 fluid in this that's one of the main
00:05:28.770 00:05:28.780 reasons why I'm gonna put an upgraded
00:05:30.540 00:05:30.550 oil cooler in it so yeah we'll get
00:05:34.740 00:05:34.750 amongst that soon let's have a look at
00:05:36.030 00:05:36.040 what I've replaced it with I've got the
00:05:39.510 00:05:39.520 parts lay down on the bench here so we
00:05:40.980 00:05:40.990 can have a look at what we're gonna be
00:05:43.080 00:05:43.090 using today now these are the actual
00:05:45.870 00:05:45.880 coolers I've gone for PWR of course as
00:05:51.450 00:05:51.460 far as cooling anything goes I'm pretty
00:05:53.520 00:05:53.530 sure that PWR would be the best in the
00:05:55.350 00:05:55.360 business so the way I figure it is I've
00:05:58.170 00:05:58.180 got limited room in the front of this
00:05:59.490 00:05:59.500 car so I'm gonna want to use the biggest
00:06:03.090 00:06:03.100 that I can get to fit but the best
00:06:04.920 00:06:04.930 brands or can get the most efficient
00:06:06.480 00:06:06.490 cooling now the difference between
00:06:08.580 00:06:08.590 something Chinese and PWR I feels not
00:06:11.130 00:06:11.140 that much too
00:06:11.710 00:06:11.720 you do pay a little bit more but I
00:06:13.750 00:06:13.760 really do think it's worth it also one
00:06:16.300 00:06:16.310 of the main reasons that definitely be
00:06:18.150 00:06:18.160 made in Australia try and support that
00:06:21.160 00:06:21.170 as much as we can all reckon so this is
00:06:23.890 00:06:23.900 the transmission one it's a 250 by 280
00:06:27.790 00:06:27.800 meal cooler and I've got the dash 6a in
00:06:31.890 00:06:31.900 fittings on the bottom of this one you
00:06:34.000 00:06:34.010 can get these calls with Barb's - 8 - 6
00:06:37.480 00:06:37.490 you know the options they're endless so
00:06:40.330 00:06:40.340 that'll be for the transmission the
00:06:41.920 00:06:41.930 reason why it's - 6 is because I'll have
00:06:43.930 00:06:43.940 fittings on the turbo 400 which we'll
00:06:46.000 00:06:46.010 have a look in a minute that are also -
00:06:48.040 00:06:48.050 6 so you know pre-planning your parts
00:06:51.640 00:06:51.650 making sure stuff like that matches up
00:06:53.650 00:06:53.660 it makes it like a lot easier now moving
00:06:57.040 00:06:57.050 on this is going to be more power
00:06:58.480 00:06:58.490 steering cooler obviously a lot better
00:07:01.030 00:07:01.040 capacity and a lot better flow also PWR
00:07:03.610 00:07:03.620 and it has 3/8 barbs on it and it's 110
00:07:07.480 00:07:07.490 by 280 you know what the 3/8 bar because
00:07:11.490 00:07:11.500 it uses a 3/8 hose so once again plan it
00:07:15.580 00:07:15.590 get your stuff sorted so it makes your
00:07:17.530 00:07:17.540 life easy now also we have obviously
00:07:21.520 00:07:21.530 some - 6 lon braided lon
00:07:23.680 00:07:23.690 I like to use braided lon when running
00:07:26.590 00:07:26.600 the lawns down the car's gonna go down
00:07:28.750 00:07:28.760 the sheds are out and it's actually
00:07:30.340 00:07:30.350 going to go in the inner wheel well so
00:07:31.780 00:07:31.790 having that stainless steel webbing
00:07:34.750 00:07:34.760 around the outside of the actual rubber
00:07:36.750 00:07:36.760 gives it that added protection from any
00:07:39.159 00:07:39.169 damage and getting any leaks so
00:07:40.870 00:07:40.880 no-brainer their black braid I've got
00:07:44.860 00:07:44.870 some Aero flow P clamps and some Aero
00:07:49.810 00:07:49.820 flow - six fittings to make these lines
00:07:53.020 00:07:53.030 up with the P clamps are obviously to
00:07:55.300 00:07:55.310 hold the hose we're going to screw them
00:07:56.980 00:07:56.990 in with a little some little self
00:07:59.050 00:07:59.060 tupper's to the chassis rail and run the
00:08:02.290 00:08:02.300 lines we'll go through that and also I
00:08:04.740 00:08:04.750 have a dipstick they're ready they'll
00:08:06.730 00:08:06.740 probably throw that into now once again
00:08:09.730 00:08:09.740 all this stuff I've gone down to the
00:08:11.200 00:08:11.210 boys down at Advanced motorsport and you
00:08:15.430 00:08:15.440 know I've plugged them before in another
00:08:16.600 00:08:16.610 video but really I've actually met
00:08:18.460 00:08:18.470 another fellow down there now
00:08:19.820 00:08:19.830 Cormack and what a champion you know
00:08:22.850 00:08:22.860 these blokes down there you know just
00:08:24.950 00:08:24.960 just great bunch of blokes I highly
00:08:26.720 00:08:26.730 recommend advance motorsport and I was
00:08:29.060 00:08:29.070 actually I was actually lucky enough
00:08:30.550 00:08:30.560 they've Lee they helped with this my
00:08:33.890 00:08:33.900 dirt so thanks heaps to the boys down at
00:08:37.270 00:08:37.280 advanced motorsport keep up the good
00:08:40.070 00:08:40.080 work love it so enough of this let's
00:08:42.980 00:08:42.990 have a look at the SS and get under
00:08:45.440 00:08:45.450 there and have a little bit turbo 400
00:08:47.180 00:08:47.190 and where these lines hook up and make a
00:08:49.730 00:08:49.740 little bit of a plan on how they're
00:08:51.200 00:08:51.210 gonna be on it okay we're down on the
00:08:54.860 00:08:54.870 ground on the right inside of the car
00:08:56.480 00:08:56.490 obviously the right-hand side front
00:08:58.250 00:08:58.260 brake right off taking the wheel off so
00:08:59.750 00:08:59.760 we can get in here and have a good look
00:09:01.240 00:09:01.250 we'll get up in here and you can see on
00:09:04.910 00:09:04.920 the front of that turbo 400 my 2-6 lines
00:09:09.310 00:09:09.320 for the transmission oil coolers lines
00:09:13.300 00:09:13.310 now we're gonna take that black braided
00:09:15.950 00:09:15.960 line I'll show you the straight - 6a
00:09:19.370 00:09:19.380 infinities and come straight off of
00:09:20.750 00:09:20.760 there and then come straight up here
00:09:23.150 00:09:23.160 straight into here around this chassis
00:09:26.150 00:09:26.160 rail move that boy I'm gonna wrap them
00:09:31.190 00:09:31.200 up around here on the inside of the well
00:09:32.480 00:09:32.490 using the P clamps to secure all and run
00:09:35.720 00:09:35.730 the wall under coupe across the shadow L
00:09:38.660 00:09:38.670 here straight across the ear around the
00:09:41.780 00:09:41.790 front wrap them around the front and
00:09:45.040 00:09:45.050 then we'll make up some breakfast so to
00:09:50.180 00:09:50.190 me out the coolers up under the frontier
00:09:53.260 00:09:53.270 now just so we know exactly how much
00:09:57.230 00:09:57.240 room we've actually got William gonna
00:09:59.630 00:09:59.640 slide the the radiator in with the
00:10:02.990 00:10:03.000 air-conditioning condenser because I'm
00:10:04.250 00:10:04.260 keeping their condition in this car
00:10:07.010 00:10:07.020 and so I can see how much RAM I got and
00:10:10.490 00:10:10.500 I will go through and remove the factory
00:10:14.060 00:10:14.070 cool alliance just a couple of clamps
00:10:15.829 00:10:15.839 there's a little 8 mil little steel pill
00:10:19.610 00:10:19.620 P clamp there take these couple of
00:10:22.100 00:10:22.110 straps out and remove all this plastic
00:10:24.470 00:10:24.480 which is just clips it's pretty
00:10:26.360 00:10:26.370 self-explanatory stuff this big front
00:10:29.420 00:10:29.430 bar air dam thing once I get the
00:10:32.180 00:10:32.190 intercooler in there there's absolutely
00:10:33.949 00:10:33.959 no way that can stay there so I'll take
00:10:35.449 00:10:35.459 that off now as well also the bottom
00:10:37.840 00:10:37.850 plastic cover here another cover that I
00:10:40.070 00:10:40.080 don't worry about I'll take that off as
00:10:41.360 00:10:41.370 well clean all this up and throw that
00:10:44.269 00:10:44.279 radiator in we'll have a look at what I
00:10:47.510 00:10:47.520 just took off so you'd have a rough idea
00:10:49.430 00:10:49.440 if you want to tackle it yourself
00:10:52.060 00:10:52.070 first thing I took off with this bottom
00:10:54.230 00:10:54.240 bottom lip sits under the bottom there's
00:10:56.510 00:10:56.520 four four of these little clips it's got
00:11:00.380 00:11:00.390 a pull out if they're threaded just get
00:11:01.820 00:11:01.830 ya
00:11:02.290 00:11:02.300 cutters under there and hold that and
00:11:04.160 00:11:04.170 just leave her amount it's four of them
00:11:06.440 00:11:06.450 then the air dam had to come off the
00:11:08.389 00:11:08.399 bottom of the Rio bar I think they call
00:11:10.670 00:11:10.680 it that was only held on by these two
00:11:13.490 00:11:13.500 little clips on the here on each corner
00:11:15.579 00:11:15.589 into these holes watching them holes so
00:11:19.010 00:11:19.020 it's just a matter of popping them out
00:11:19.970 00:11:19.980 and that was just clipped onto the
00:11:21.620 00:11:21.630 bottom of the radiator support so that
00:11:23.150 00:11:23.160 came out easy I actually took the Rio
00:11:25.370 00:11:25.380 bar out to open it up to have a plenty
00:11:28.639 00:11:28.649 more room to work in there that's for
00:11:30.079 00:11:30.089 sure there's three 30ml bolts both sides
00:11:32.329 00:11:32.339 to get that off this will go back in but
00:11:35.090 00:11:35.100 more than likely it will have a huge
00:11:36.350 00:11:36.360 cutout in it for the intercooler later
00:11:37.970 00:11:37.980 on but I do like to put as much of that
00:11:40.220 00:11:40.230 back in as possible I am going to be
00:11:42.560 00:11:42.570 trying to run a hundred mil thick
00:11:44.240 00:11:44.250 intercooler in the front of this car so
00:11:46.240 00:11:46.250 yeah I daresay a lot of that might be
00:11:48.590 00:11:48.600 gone but in the future I will be putting
00:11:51.170 00:11:51.180 this back in as well as the twin horns
00:11:53.150 00:11:53.160 keep all that stuff working and this is
00:11:55.730 00:11:55.740 the factory power steering core with its
00:11:58.880 00:11:58.890 little straps it was just four Phillips
00:12:01.730 00:12:01.740 head screws in there too into the radios
00:12:04.069 00:12:04.079 bottom right our support and two into
00:12:05.600 00:12:05.610 the top radiator support and then there
00:12:07.790 00:12:07.800 was a little P clip clip there that was
00:12:09.530 00:12:09.540 screwed in as well for the self-tapping
00:12:11.560 00:12:11.570 self-tapping from standard so that's
00:12:13.400 00:12:13.410 pretty funny little little oil cooler
00:12:15.890 00:12:15.900 lines that run over to the hard lines in
00:12:17.689 00:12:17.699 the engine bay and then this was just
00:12:19.810 00:12:19.820 slipped onto the bottom of the radiator
00:12:20.980 00:12:20.990 support so all that out and that opens
00:12:24.880 00:12:24.890 us up to have a good look at where these
00:12:26.950 00:12:26.960 coolers are going to go
00:12:28.230 00:12:28.240 now I've already slid the the radiator
00:12:31.390 00:12:31.400 end and the air conditioner condenser it
00:12:35.020 00:12:35.030 has the draw mounted to it so you can
00:12:37.900 00:12:37.910 get a good look at you know where what
00:12:39.910 00:12:39.920 you need to mount it and the size of the
00:12:41.500 00:12:41.510 coolers that have chosen now
00:12:43.650 00:12:43.660 the intercooler is obviously going to be
00:12:45.850 00:12:45.860 in front of here so the width of that if
00:12:49.300 00:12:49.310 you can see the distance that comes out
00:12:51.580 00:12:51.590 just get a good angle on it you can't
00:12:54.130 00:12:54.140 really see it but the distance that this
00:12:56.290 00:12:56.300 comes out we cannot have these coolers
00:12:58.000 00:12:58.010 coming out any further than that and
00:12:59.530 00:12:59.540 that is pretty well in line with the
00:13:01.900 00:13:01.910 front lip of this radiator support so
00:13:05.710 00:13:05.720 that's roughly where the intercooler
00:13:07.150 00:13:07.160 whether sorry it will cool is going to
00:13:09.760 00:13:09.770 sit can sit up a little bit both of them
00:13:12.550 00:13:12.560 will sit up and they'll be definitely
00:13:15.100 00:13:15.110 like maybe 25 mil 30 ml of gap between
00:13:18.220 00:13:18.230 the back of these are all coolers and
00:13:19.990 00:13:20.000 the air conditioner condenser I think
00:13:21.610 00:13:21.620 that little air gap is key when getting
00:13:24.430 00:13:24.440 all the cools to work together in line
00:13:27.070 00:13:27.080 I think savaging them up against each
00:13:29.500 00:13:29.510 other you can get the mounts that come
00:13:30.790 00:13:30.800 through the through the radiator grills
00:13:33.490 00:13:33.500 I think that just it just starts
00:13:35.740 00:13:35.750 stacking it too thick and the air starts
00:13:37.390 00:13:37.400 to struggle I think having a little gap
00:13:39.190 00:13:39.200 helps just from what I've played with in
00:13:41.560 00:13:41.570 the past and what other people have told
00:13:43.060 00:13:43.070 me so roughly that's really going to sit
00:13:46.360 00:13:46.370 and see they sit in there noise straight
00:13:48.820 00:13:48.830 a in fitting there I'll probably end up
00:13:50.590 00:13:50.600 notching a little bit of this right
00:13:52.750 00:13:52.760 ad-supported out so that will cool it
00:13:54.490 00:13:54.500 won't go straight around there this
00:13:56.770 00:13:56.780 one's got a 90 on it it'll come down and
00:13:58.450 00:13:58.460 around probably zip tie to that one and
00:14:00.520 00:14:00.530 go around there as well the power
00:14:03.610 00:14:03.620 steering lines they'll probably just
00:14:05.290 00:14:05.300 quote in around and run along the bottom
00:14:06.940 00:14:06.950 and over into the hard lines and this
00:14:09.670 00:14:09.680 one here I'll probably have to do
00:14:10.540 00:14:10.550 something sort of a spiral do the same
00:14:12.430 00:14:12.440 thing so you can roughly see the oil on
00:14:16.840 00:14:16.850 there gonna run roughly see where
00:14:18.070 00:14:18.080 they're going to fit and the next step
00:14:20.410 00:14:20.420 will be to make some some brackets
00:14:22.950 00:14:22.960 similar to the standard ones but I'm
00:14:24.790 00:14:24.800 going to use a bit of this looks like 10
00:14:27.160 00:14:27.170 or 12 mil by two or three mil aluminium
00:14:30.000 00:14:30.010 flat bar and I was going to make three
00:14:32.980 00:14:32.990 of them just bend a little angle on the
00:14:34.540 00:14:34.550 bottom come up and have a little angle
00:14:36.790 00:14:36.800 and screw into the bottom of the top
00:14:38.560 00:14:38.570 radio support screw down into the bottom
00:14:40.900 00:14:40.910 radiator support and have three of them
00:14:43.180 00:14:43.190 one two three and that should mount
00:14:45.550 00:14:45.560 those a little fools and they're just
00:14:46.690 00:14:46.700 nice so what I'll do is I'll make one of
00:14:50.139 00:14:50.149 them are play around get the
00:14:51.370 00:14:51.380 measurements right so I know exactly
00:14:53.530 00:14:53.540 what I'm doing and then I'll show you
00:14:54.970 00:14:54.980 how I'll make one of them brackets and
00:14:56.710 00:14:56.720 yeah we'll get all this mended up okay
00:14:59.829 00:14:59.839 guys I got the first bracket made up put
00:15:03.010 00:15:03.020 in so I know what I'm doing he asked to
00:15:05.019 00:15:05.029 make two more you can see I've just that
00:15:07.570 00:15:07.580 law it's pretty broad of this self
00:15:08.949 00:15:08.959 tapped the bottom of the bracket into
00:15:11.680 00:15:11.690 the radio support bent off a little bit
00:15:15.040 00:15:15.050 of this aluminium and self tap run to
00:15:16.870 00:15:16.880 the top right edge support there and
00:15:19.780 00:15:19.790 there's gonna be three of them obviously
00:15:22.150 00:15:22.160 this is gonna be the middle one and
00:15:24.130 00:15:24.140 that'll take the middle running the
00:15:27.250 00:15:27.260 coolers then we won this side and one
00:15:29.440 00:15:29.450 that side so we'll head over to the
00:15:31.570 00:15:31.580 bench and I'll just quickly show you how
00:15:34.210 00:15:34.220 I bent this up when I go as here's the
00:15:39.250 00:15:39.260 second bracket we've already made just a
00:15:42.160 00:15:42.170 matter of jubu coating same thing all
00:15:43.600 00:15:43.610 ideas got rid of that flat measured how
00:15:46.660 00:15:46.670 much I needed plus a little bit extra
00:15:48.490 00:15:48.500 each side you can always trim off the
00:15:50.079 00:15:50.089 legs after you finish so you want to
00:15:51.400 00:15:51.410 definitely make it a little bit longer
00:15:52.540 00:15:52.550 than what you need so lay them a bit
00:15:56.230 00:15:56.240 longer
00:15:56.590 00:15:56.600 the first tab that I needed I need 50
00:15:59.890 00:15:59.900 mil Simply Measured 50mm marked it then
00:16:04.750 00:16:04.760 I went to the bench boss here with a
00:16:06.699 00:16:06.709 little little flat edge pretty simple
00:16:09.269 00:16:09.279 whack it in there on the flat edge
00:16:13.050 00:16:13.060 tighten it up bend it around call Ben
00:16:25.090 00:16:25.100 gives you a nice Bend pretty easy now
00:16:29.380 00:16:29.390 the only because we have to do this
00:16:33.260 00:16:33.270 between two to set members you have to
00:16:37.160 00:16:37.170 take the thickness of the material off
00:16:40.100 00:16:40.110 the next measurement so I needed 365
00:16:43.450 00:16:43.460 between so you got to take the thickness
00:16:46.430 00:16:46.440 off to a laugh at the bend that's the
00:16:47.690 00:16:47.700 only real tip that I have for you so I
00:16:49.490 00:16:49.500 just measure 362 take about three mil
00:16:52.760 00:16:52.770 off lock it again the same deal back
00:17:06.860 00:17:06.870 into the little bench vise on the mark
00:17:10.820 00:17:10.830 nice and tight bend it around
00:17:22.030 00:17:22.040 seriously that easy so that's the third
00:17:25.820 00:17:25.830 one then we'll go through and mark them
00:17:28.700 00:17:28.710 out and mount these all three of them in
00:17:30.710 00:17:30.720 right in a row and I'll show you how we
00:17:32.360 00:17:32.370 go about it okay go to them three
00:17:36.860 00:17:36.870 brackets in and manage two I'll just end
00:17:40.850 00:17:40.860 up screwing the mccullars to the straps
00:17:43.340 00:17:43.350 that I made the brackets the only thing
00:17:45.740 00:17:45.750 that did really change is this top one
00:17:48.320 00:17:48.330 up in here see it I had to put a bit of
00:17:52.130 00:17:52.140 a funky Bend on it because the top radio
00:17:54.320 00:17:54.330 support changed shape still the same
00:17:56.330 00:17:56.340 size just had to put a little bend in it
00:17:58.210 00:17:58.220 but it turned out quite well you can see
00:18:02.360 00:18:02.370 over the top here plenty of gap down the
00:18:06.200 00:18:06.210 back of the cools between the radiator
00:18:07.970 00:18:07.980 condenser with that airflow getting in
00:18:09.590 00:18:09.600 amongst there you can see that the that
00:18:14.480 00:18:14.490 top lines gonna know any off there and
00:18:16.400 00:18:16.410 come down and around and this this line
00:18:18.110 00:18:18.120 here is gonna come straight out so you
00:18:19.580 00:18:19.590 can see where I've marked out where I'm
00:18:22.340 00:18:22.350 gonna cut out that black line so it
00:18:23.900 00:18:23.910 gives it a free path to wrap around for
00:18:25.640 00:18:25.650 those trendy lines so I'll cut all that
00:18:28.430 00:18:28.440 out and then we'll look at making up
00:18:29.840 00:18:29.850 these lines and getting them all fit in
00:18:34.160 00:18:34.170 all right you can see where our just
00:18:35.810 00:18:35.820 clearance that that lower radio support
00:18:39.110 00:18:39.120 so these braided lines can come straight
00:18:40.940 00:18:40.950 through there and have a nice straight
00:18:42.560 00:18:42.570 run if they were outside and around the
00:18:45.320 00:18:45.330 outside it would be a sharp edge for it
00:18:46.820 00:18:46.830 to rub against which is no good so that
00:18:49.760 00:18:49.770 will allow me to go straight through
00:18:51.080 00:18:51.090 there and probably put a P clamp on the
00:18:52.940 00:18:52.950 front there nicely and then this one
00:18:55.280 00:18:55.290 will come down around maybe put another
00:18:57.680 00:18:57.690 P clamp there so that's sweet we'll look
00:19:01.430 00:19:01.440 at making those lines up now and running
00:19:04.130 00:19:04.140 them from the auto okay the next step is
00:19:08.360 00:19:08.370 to get some of this braided line sort it
00:19:12.680 00:19:12.690 for the transmission cooler make up some
00:19:14.840 00:19:14.850 of these lines of these iron fittings
00:19:16.630 00:19:16.640 now this is - 6i in stop and it's - dick
00:19:22.820 00:19:22.830 style braided line it's actually the
00:19:24.230 00:19:24.240 fabric
00:19:24.920 00:19:24.930 it's like fabric covered it's not the
00:19:27.950 00:19:27.960 hard steel covered stuff which I
00:19:30.440 00:19:30.450 actually reckon is better especially for
00:19:32.540 00:19:32.550 making these lines after practicing on
00:19:34.190 00:19:34.200 this one that's the easiest one I've
00:19:35.270 00:19:35.280 ever made first time I ever used this
00:19:37.490 00:19:37.500 fabric cupboard stuff but still got the
00:19:39.130 00:19:39.140 stainless steel wore in there but it's
00:19:41.720 00:19:41.730 covered with this nice fabric stuff so
00:19:45.970 00:19:45.980 I'll cut the end off this and show you
00:19:48.170 00:19:48.180 how to do a cut as well first thing I
00:19:50.840 00:19:50.850 like to do is to cut it is you've got to
00:19:52.700 00:19:52.710 wrap some electrical tape around where
00:19:55.880 00:19:55.890 you're going to cut it now it's going to
00:19:56.960 00:19:56.970 put this fitting on the end so you just
00:19:59.330 00:19:59.340 wrap the tape around there relatively
00:20:01.430 00:20:01.440 tight just to stop it from fraying
00:20:02.960 00:20:02.970 because when you throw the grinder
00:20:04.580 00:20:04.590 through it it's going to want to fray so
00:20:07.100 00:20:07.110 cut a couple of laps with a bit of good
00:20:09.260 00:20:09.270 tape then I'll just grab the angle
00:20:12.680 00:20:12.690 grinder and actually cut through the
00:20:13.940 00:20:13.950 center of the tight
00:20:29.990 00:20:30.000 okay nice clean cut a little bit of
00:20:33.540 00:20:33.550 rubber in there make sure you get that
00:20:35.520 00:20:35.530 out
00:20:36.060 00:20:36.070 just flick all the rubber out of the
00:20:37.740 00:20:37.750 inside of it there then you can actually
00:20:41.700 00:20:41.710 unwrap the tape it's just the the
00:20:45.140 00:20:45.150 circular motion of the cutters what
00:20:48.000 00:20:48.010 makes the the braid fray out like crazy
00:20:50.640 00:20:50.650 so being able to tape it in there gives
00:20:52.980 00:20:52.990 you a super nice clean non frayed cut
00:20:56.750 00:20:56.760 just like that well now we have the
00:21:00.450 00:21:00.460 fitting you undo the I would call it the
00:21:05.430 00:21:05.440 cutter part of the fitting and you can
00:21:09.000 00:21:09.010 see where the hose pushes on to but in
00:21:12.480 00:21:12.490 this in the nut part of it inside here
00:21:15.630 00:21:15.640 there's actually a coarse thread I think
00:21:18.510 00:21:18.520 you probably can't see it but there's a
00:21:19.800 00:21:19.810 coarse thread inside there and that
00:21:22.020 00:21:22.030 actually grips the outside of the braid
00:21:23.850 00:21:23.860 so you actually push it on and turn it
00:21:27.120 00:21:27.130 so that the outside of this not actually
00:21:29.790 00:21:29.800 grips into that groups into the braid
00:21:32.460 00:21:32.470 and that's where it gets a lot of its
00:21:34.500 00:21:34.510 strength from you just push and turn
00:21:38.540 00:21:38.550 until show you but until that hose has
00:21:45.960 00:21:45.970 just bottomed out to the bottom of the
00:21:47.610 00:21:47.620 threads in there pretty hard for me to
00:21:49.410 00:21:49.420 show you on camera of it yeah you turn
00:21:51.960 00:21:51.970 it you turn it on until it bottoms out
00:21:53.640 00:21:53.650 there then all I like to put a little
00:21:55.680 00:21:55.690 bit of WD on the you could even use a
00:21:58.620 00:21:58.630 little bit of oil put a dub D on the
00:22:00.270 00:22:00.280 hose it's been on the end of the the
00:22:04.080 00:22:04.090 nose I suppose it's going to slide into
00:22:05.700 00:22:05.710 the hose as well and that just makes
00:22:08.250 00:22:08.260 putting the whole fitting together so
00:22:09.660 00:22:09.670 much easier so push it inside and you
00:22:13.860 00:22:13.870 just get that thread started do it as
00:22:18.720 00:22:18.730 far as you can with your fingers which
00:22:21.660 00:22:21.670 I've reached that point and then I've
00:22:23.640 00:22:23.650 got this I don't have my end fitting so
00:22:26.160 00:22:26.170 I've got a bit of a janky set up but it
00:22:28.560 00:22:28.570 does the job I just like to put a shift
00:22:30.210 00:22:30.220 up in me little portable bench vise and
00:22:33.600 00:22:33.610 I'll come up with it it's at least that
00:22:37.230 00:22:37.240 way it hold it for me and
00:22:39.610 00:22:39.620 can put that fitting in the shifter and
00:22:42.820 00:22:42.830 concentrate my other other shift up
00:22:44.940 00:22:44.950 on the fitting and just simply wand it
00:22:47.410 00:22:47.420 together but just just a lot easy and
00:22:51.670 00:22:51.680 trying to hold two shifters that's for
00:22:53.200 00:22:53.210 sure you feel it's starting to get tight
00:23:13.870 00:23:13.880 that's it
00:23:15.289 00:23:15.299 simple as that do it up til it's hot and
00:23:18.169 00:23:18.179 there's your a n fitting ready ready to
00:23:20.930 00:23:20.940 bolt onto the box so we'll go over now
00:23:23.659 00:23:23.669 and screw these on to the dash six
00:23:26.870 00:23:26.880 fittings that are coming out of the gear
00:23:28.669 00:23:28.679 box all right we're back under the car
00:23:32.029 00:23:32.039 and I've already got the top line on
00:23:34.700 00:23:34.710 just a matter of screwing it under these
00:23:36.560 00:23:36.570 fittings you gotta go a bit of a lot
00:23:39.049 00:23:39.059 change but also got the second braided
00:23:43.190 00:23:43.200 line on they ain't fitting nice and done
00:23:45.320 00:23:45.330 up and I'll run them over towards the
00:23:47.630 00:23:47.640 show 0l here and I've already put a
00:23:50.690 00:23:50.700 couple of MP clamps in oscillated P
00:23:52.669 00:23:52.679 clamps now the plan is to run the lines
00:23:56.539 00:23:56.549 over here out of the way because in this
00:24:01.250 00:24:01.260 gap here next to the in this hole here
00:24:03.980 00:24:03.990 that's where the exhaust comes through
00:24:05.690 00:24:05.700 so we need to tuck that up out of the
00:24:07.010 00:24:07.020 way now we could have run the lines in
00:24:09.860 00:24:09.870 the inside of the show zero but I'll
00:24:11.810 00:24:11.820 just worry that it gets too close to the
00:24:13.370 00:24:13.380 exhaust and being a turbo setup the
00:24:15.919 00:24:15.929 exhaust actually runs quite a bit hotter
00:24:17.810 00:24:17.820 than what it normally would be so
00:24:19.419 00:24:19.429 ducking the mount here at the inner
00:24:22.190 00:24:22.200 guard you know real well for me would
00:24:25.460 00:24:25.470 seem like the best options first two P
00:24:27.890 00:24:27.900 clamps are in and we're on their way
00:24:29.090 00:24:29.100 over there so I'll get set up in there
00:24:32.020 00:24:32.030 in a guard there the wheel well and show
00:24:34.940 00:24:34.950 you what we're up to
00:24:35.510 00:24:35.520 okay we're back here on the inner guard
00:24:38.270 00:24:38.280 on the right hand side there's two P
00:24:41.390 00:24:41.400 clamps that I've shown you before these
00:24:43.039 00:24:43.049 ones here so you can see we've wrapped
00:24:45.080 00:24:45.090 up around and I've put a couple more end
00:24:48.370 00:24:48.380 round them straight along and then put
00:24:50.419 00:24:50.429 another couple more in so give you a bit
00:24:53.270 00:24:53.280 of a look at how they're being run you
00:24:56.630 00:24:56.640 can see Danny around there with a little
00:24:58.730 00:24:58.740 bit of slack on them lines there's a bit
00:25:00.230 00:25:00.240 of room for movement and yeah they wrap
00:25:02.779 00:25:02.789 up and around yeah we can go and work on
00:25:05.630 00:25:05.640 the front alright now we're at the front
00:25:11.740 00:25:11.750 hopefully we can see trying to get some
00:25:13.850 00:25:13.860 decent light set up here you can see
00:25:16.370 00:25:16.380 I've got the iron fittings are straight
00:25:18.740 00:25:18.750 on the bottom and relaxed
00:25:20.710 00:25:20.720 put a 90 on the top and that so can wrap
00:25:25.090 00:25:25.100 these lines around this front corner and
00:25:28.810 00:25:28.820 then run one up to the 90 and one
00:25:33.490 00:25:33.500 straight to that fitting there and if
00:25:35.860 00:25:35.870 you remember we cut this little section
00:25:37.390 00:25:37.400 out here so that these lines had a nice
00:25:38.980 00:25:38.990 straight run they also you might notice
00:25:41.440 00:25:41.450 that when I put the fittings on the
00:25:45.010 00:25:45.020 other end this end obviously hasn't been
00:25:47.680 00:25:47.690 cut yet I'll find that to be the easiest
00:25:49.120 00:25:49.130 way so that way now you can just hold it
00:25:52.450 00:25:52.460 exactly one at the bottom line exactly
00:25:54.430 00:25:54.440 where you need it
00:25:55.740 00:25:55.750 hold it there put a mark or even just
00:25:59.380 00:25:59.390 wrap the tape around it straight away
00:26:00.669 00:26:00.679 where you going to cut it and then that
00:26:02.740 00:26:02.750 will free up the top one and then you
00:26:06.010 00:26:06.020 can mark the top one it's just because
00:26:09.130 00:26:09.140 they're two different length lines
00:26:10.180 00:26:10.190 instead of trying to Jenna round form
00:26:12.279 00:26:12.289 the right length and doing unnecessary
00:26:13.450 00:26:13.460 cuts or fonder still in one end and
00:26:15.310 00:26:15.320 leaving one end looped is just the
00:26:17.529 00:26:17.539 easiest way so what I'll do is I'll
00:26:19.720 00:26:19.730 shimmy around with this and get them
00:26:21.850 00:26:21.860 lined up and tape them and mark them and
00:26:24.820 00:26:24.830 we'll we'll get these fittings on okay
00:26:29.049 00:26:29.059 you can see those lines I've finished up
00:26:33.149 00:26:33.159 ended up putting a couple of P clamps in
00:26:35.710 00:26:35.720 the frontier to hold them and also just
00:26:38.320 00:26:38.330 another tip when tightening these an
00:26:40.480 00:26:40.490 fittings onto your oil cooler you can
00:26:42.130 00:26:42.140 see that they give you a an allocation
00:26:44.649 00:26:44.659 to put a shifter or a spanner that's to
00:26:46.419 00:26:46.429 hold it you don't want to go trying to
00:26:47.830 00:26:47.840 tighten that I am fitting without
00:26:49.270 00:26:49.280 supporting their cooler as well because
00:26:51.100 00:26:51.110 these are only lightly sold it in if you
00:26:53.620 00:26:53.630 go wrenching on the on the fittings
00:26:55.690 00:26:55.700 there's more than likely you'll end up
00:26:56.919 00:26:56.929 cracking the top ear crack in the bottom
00:26:59.010 00:26:59.020 so make sure you put a second shifter or
00:27:01.899 00:27:01.909 second spanner on the cooler as well
00:27:03.549 00:27:03.559 when you go talking it so the oil lines
00:27:08.380 00:27:08.390 for the transmission are done we'll move
00:27:11.320 00:27:11.330 on to the the power steering cooler
00:27:15.070 00:27:15.080 lines shortly helps give you another
00:27:16.810 00:27:16.820 quick look move this Lord around they
00:27:20.320 00:27:20.330 wrap up around the bottom here you can
00:27:23.620 00:27:23.630 see where they just take off down the
00:27:29.020 00:27:29.030 shows you're out there cornered is not
00:27:31.330 00:27:31.340 Tom at the moment so do apologize
00:27:33.310 00:27:33.320 like yeah sort of you can see where I
00:27:37.299 00:27:37.309 run their lines also another thing is
00:27:40.980 00:27:40.990 I've got the bottom line coming out of
00:27:44.259 00:27:44.269 the bottom bottom port of the
00:27:47.350 00:27:47.360 transmission now that's the oil coming
00:27:49.899 00:27:49.909 out of the transmission so the oil
00:27:51.669 00:27:51.679 coming out of the transmission come out
00:27:53.289 00:27:53.299 and fill this from the bottom up so this
00:27:55.899 00:27:55.909 cooler will stay full of oil if you fill
00:27:57.940 00:27:57.950 it from the top down I find that it
00:27:59.529 00:27:59.539 probably dribble down and it's not
00:28:00.909 00:28:00.919 absolutely choppers full so I always
00:28:03.399 00:28:03.409 like to fill it from the bottom up so
00:28:06.190 00:28:06.200 keep that in mind as well all right
00:28:08.740 00:28:08.750 we'll move on to the past Airlines now I
00:28:11.200 00:28:11.210 mean sitting there having a look looking
00:28:14.200 00:28:14.210 at my options I'll come up with a bit of
00:28:16.509 00:28:16.519 a plan I'll show you the in the back
00:28:21.129 00:28:21.139 here the light the hard line it up you
00:28:22.659 00:28:22.669 can see it oh yeah
00:28:23.799 00:28:23.809 comes out of the past steering out of
00:28:25.600 00:28:25.610 that steering box or it comes along here
00:28:27.720 00:28:27.730 up and kicks out here and then after
00:28:31.389 00:28:31.399 coming through the factory cooler at the
00:28:33.070 00:28:33.080 front it comes back and taps into this
00:28:34.570 00:28:34.580 line here now what I what I'm gonna do
00:28:38.110 00:28:38.120 is I'm gonna actually take this standard
00:28:40.539 00:28:40.549 line out I don't see the point in the
00:28:44.019 00:28:44.029 oil lines coming across the front
00:28:46.180 00:28:46.190 through the cooler than one side going
00:28:48.279 00:28:48.289 back so what I'm going to do is come in
00:28:49.840 00:28:49.850 one side go into the cooler and then
00:28:52.419 00:28:52.429 come out the other side and and go back
00:28:54.909 00:28:54.919 over so that I'm not doubling back so I
00:28:58.060 00:28:58.070 just got some 3/8 just normal rubber
00:29:01.180 00:29:01.190 transmission oil cooler line remember
00:29:04.240 00:29:04.250 power steering fluids the same as
00:29:05.499 00:29:05.509 transmission fluid so that one is rated
00:29:07.720 00:29:07.730 to do it and I might move the light but
00:29:10.629 00:29:10.639 exactly some room just under the under
00:29:12.610 00:29:12.620 the bottom here I poke this hose through
00:29:14.610 00:29:14.620 so there's enough room both sides this
00:29:17.169 00:29:17.179 one he'll sneaking next to that air
00:29:18.490 00:29:18.500 conditional on there then that one
00:29:20.560 00:29:20.570 they're all coming out there so we'll
00:29:21.639 00:29:21.649 come out off there hard line that comes
00:29:23.409 00:29:23.419 from the steering steering box come up
00:29:25.919 00:29:25.929 correct to come around here and do a
00:29:28.119 00:29:28.129 little bit of a coil in around the back
00:29:30.430 00:29:30.440 here like this I'm gonna put it behind
00:29:32.430 00:29:32.440 so that I can fill that oil cooler from
00:29:35.139 00:29:35.149 the bottom up because I like to fill it
00:29:37.119 00:29:37.129 from the bottom up comes out of the
00:29:38.440 00:29:38.450 steering steering box fills it up then
00:29:41.680 00:29:41.690 returns back through there up to the
00:29:44.529 00:29:44.539 reservoir
00:29:46.150 00:29:46.160 which is here so the this line will
00:29:49.750 00:29:49.760 probably run along the shows Elon rail
00:29:51.430 00:29:51.440 there and pretty much meet up to the
00:29:53.470 00:29:53.480 same point is where it comes up here you
00:29:54.970 00:29:54.980 can see where this line comes there so
00:29:57.760 00:29:57.770 it's just a matter of maybe people
00:29:59.200 00:29:59.210 putting a pea plant bit on the inside of
00:30:00.520 00:30:00.530 the shady there and pretty much coming
00:30:03.040 00:30:03.050 back coming back up exactly the same
00:30:04.780 00:30:04.790 spot so what I'll do is I'm going to
00:30:08.050 00:30:08.060 take that line out get rid of all that
00:30:10.080 00:30:10.090 probably take this radiator out so I can
00:30:12.400 00:30:12.410 run run this line behind and get all
00:30:15.910 00:30:15.920 that tied it up and I'll do a bit little
00:30:18.880 00:30:18.890 catch back up okay I got that that feed
00:30:22.690 00:30:22.700 all sorted out you can see I've had to
00:30:27.220 00:30:27.230 coil it up I used a cup of pee clamps to
00:30:31.000 00:30:31.010 hold that hose in there nice and tight
00:30:33.520 00:30:33.530 so it doesn't go flapping around you'll
00:30:36.070 00:30:36.080 probably use zip ties but you know why
00:30:39.310 00:30:39.320 not try your hardest and make it as tidy
00:30:40.960 00:30:40.970 as possible it's not that much effort
00:30:42.300 00:30:42.310 probably also notice I changed all these
00:30:44.760 00:30:44.770 by yourself tappers originally I changed
00:30:47.500 00:30:47.510 my little nuts and bolts and it coils
00:30:50.770 00:30:50.780 around the end of the radiator end tank
00:30:52.780 00:30:52.790 there and clean it back into the factory
00:30:56.890 00:30:56.900 hard-lined so that looks nice and tidy
00:31:00.910 00:31:00.920 I much prefer the little bolts I didn't
00:31:04.420 00:31:04.430 call these too hard either so the pea
00:31:05.980 00:31:05.990 clamps up a little bit high here give
00:31:07.390 00:31:07.400 this a nice smooth run and that will
00:31:08.800 00:31:08.810 fill the oil from the bottom up so it
00:31:11.620 00:31:11.630 looks pretty good now to go from the oil
00:31:14.500 00:31:14.510 cooler up to the reservoir just another
00:31:17.230 00:31:17.240 piece of hose I haven't finished this
00:31:19.870 00:31:19.880 one I just sort of poke it in getting a
00:31:21.250 00:31:21.260 bit of an idea what I'm gonna do it's
00:31:23.980 00:31:23.990 got to go around the other end of the
00:31:25.120 00:31:25.130 end tank with a hair condition along
00:31:26.830 00:31:26.840 goes and it will follow up probably zip
00:31:31.240 00:31:31.250 tie it back to the hard line there
00:31:33.370 00:31:33.380 now obviously the turbo is gonna be
00:31:35.950 00:31:35.960 sitting right here and it gets
00:31:38.110 00:31:38.120 extraordinarily hot so I like to get
00:31:40.900 00:31:40.910 some of this heats leaving I suppose
00:31:44.650 00:31:44.660 four hoses it's got like a sort of
00:31:47.020 00:31:47.030 fabric fibre glas.t sleeve to it just
00:31:50.500 00:31:50.510 helps protect the line I've had friends
00:31:52.720 00:31:52.730 with turbo cars their power steering
00:31:54.400 00:31:54.410 lines burn through and actually cause
00:31:55.660 00:31:55.670 small fire here so it's definitely a
00:31:57.220 00:31:57.230 good idea
00:31:57.610 00:31:57.620 detroying insulate the return line for
00:32:00.100 00:32:00.110 the past end because it just goes so
00:32:01.510 00:32:01.520 close to the exhaust housing on the
00:32:02.830 00:32:02.840 turbo so what I'll do is I'll throw a
00:32:06.430 00:32:06.440 bit this heats leaving over and run this
00:32:08.110 00:32:08.120 one and I'll give you an update once
00:32:09.280 00:32:09.290 this hose is done alrighty got that
00:32:12.490 00:32:12.500 returned part from the cooler up to the
00:32:14.500 00:32:14.510 reservoir done you can see here where
00:32:17.290 00:32:17.300 that heats leaving is it'll pushed over
00:32:20.230 00:32:20.240 it goes all the way down so just before
00:32:22.630 00:32:22.640 it goes in the end tank or in the end
00:32:24.430 00:32:24.440 tank of the radiator you know stopped it
00:32:26.530 00:32:26.540 there because it's probably gonna get
00:32:27.460 00:32:27.470 too thick to fit in that little voice
00:32:29.799 00:32:29.809 down there but with the turbo up here
00:32:32.049 00:32:32.059 that's more than enough sleeving
00:32:33.430 00:32:33.440 let's put some zip ties around the the
00:32:38.040 00:32:38.050 high-pressure line for the power
00:32:39.820 00:32:39.830 steering it being a hard line it holds
00:32:42.010 00:32:42.020 in there good and also utilize the front
00:32:45.070 00:32:45.080 bolt on the the sway bar mount there and
00:32:47.560 00:32:47.570 just talk the the rubber bit off the P
00:32:54.220 00:32:54.230 clamp because the Tauri got the heat
00:32:55.570 00:32:55.580 sleeve on there so that's more than
00:32:56.770 00:32:56.780 enough insulation and it would have been
00:32:58.450 00:32:58.460 too small the clamp you've gotta lift
00:33:00.610 00:33:00.620 the rubber on there so ya use the P
00:33:03.070 00:33:03.080 clamp down there just to hold it in it
00:33:04.750 00:33:04.760 seems to work in there just nice real
00:33:07.240 00:33:07.250 nice and we'll happy with it it'll
00:33:09.130 00:33:09.140 poking around the end of the end tank
00:33:10.570 00:33:10.580 like I said if it'll focus and then
00:33:14.110 00:33:14.120 it'll just come up into the oil core
00:33:17.340 00:33:17.350 pretty easy stuff what I will do is I'll
00:33:20.320 00:33:20.330 just put that radiator and aircon
00:33:22.240 00:33:22.250 condenser back in there and we'll have a
00:33:24.580 00:33:24.590 look at this finished product
00:33:26.460 00:33:26.470 okay guys radiate or near Qom condense
00:33:30.610 00:33:30.620 it back in just throw a couple zip ties
00:33:33.460 00:33:33.470 on to tie everything back and all these
00:33:36.549 00:33:36.559 hoses move in and out no worries Doug
00:33:39.010 00:33:39.020 that print on the end of the radiator
00:33:40.990 00:33:41.000 tanks so yeah pretty stoked on that's
00:33:46.419 00:33:46.429 better yeah you can have a look it all
00:33:49.270 00:33:49.280 fits in there really well I'm real happy
00:33:50.470 00:33:50.480 with it actually also plenty of room
00:33:57.270 00:33:57.280 alright you see the hose down the bottom
00:34:01.120 00:34:01.130 there nothing rubs all the P clamps are
00:34:03.549 00:34:03.559 holding everything back so all-in-all
00:34:05.950 00:34:05.960 real happy with that
00:34:07.859 00:34:07.869 whole installation I think it's it's
00:34:11.339 00:34:11.349 gonna work well okay guys
00:34:13.260 00:34:13.270 that'll do this episode putting the oil
00:34:15.539 00:34:15.549 coolers in the SS I'm off actually I'm
00:34:20.279 00:34:20.289 off taking the kids for a ride I'm all
00:34:23.010 00:34:23.020 loaded you know trying to get that
00:34:24.569 00:34:24.579 perfect balance between working on the
00:34:26.069 00:34:26.079 cars and spend on top of the family so
00:34:29.510 00:34:29.520 if you like what you've seen in this
00:34:32.339 00:34:32.349 episode hit that thumbs up any comments
00:34:35.700 00:34:35.710 feel free to throw them in there that
00:34:38.789 00:34:38.799 don't ever feel like your questions
00:34:40.230 00:34:40.240 would be too too simple or too silly and
00:34:43.200 00:34:43.210 it's a lot that there's no there'll be
00:34:44.639 00:34:44.649 no negativity on this channel try my
00:34:46.500 00:34:46.510 best to answer every question just to
00:34:48.119 00:34:48.129 try and help you guys learn anything
00:34:49.200 00:34:49.210 he's need to know I'm happy to pass it
00:34:50.879 00:34:50.889 on also if you want to see more
00:34:53.430 00:34:53.440 subscribe of course and hit the bell if
00:34:55.919 00:34:55.929 you want to be told or notified when my
00:34:57.839 00:34:57.849 next videos are out now talking about
00:35:00.510 00:35:00.520 the next video we will start the SS up
00:35:03.289 00:35:03.299 you know it's gonna be a few little odd
00:35:05.309 00:35:05.319 jobs first before we actually get to it
00:35:06.900 00:35:06.910 starting up you know go put the exhaust
00:35:08.640 00:35:08.650 in and finish up the wiring and belts
00:35:12.000 00:35:12.010 and hoses and all that sort of fun stuff
00:35:15.089 00:35:15.099 so the next video be quite interesting
00:35:16.769 00:35:16.779 but I actually think the SS will sound
00:35:18.809 00:35:18.819 pretty good it's pretty aggressive cam
00:35:20.279 00:35:20.289 that we put in that motor and you know I
00:35:22.620 00:35:22.630 think it'll be a good video big as we
00:35:24.299 00:35:24.309 could to get it gone
00:35:25.019 00:35:25.029 that's for sure it'll definitely
00:35:26.010 00:35:26.020 motivate me more to put that turbo kit
00:35:28.650 00:35:28.660 on real quick so yeah it more it
00:35:31.559 00:35:31.569 actually be another midweek episode or
00:35:33.930 00:35:33.940 maybe next weekend we'll do an episode
00:35:35.670 00:35:35.680 on the tunur as well got some parts
00:35:37.079 00:35:37.089 coming for the tunnel so we might throw
00:35:39.089 00:35:39.099 that in there as well and yes I probably
00:35:42.329 00:35:42.339 not gonna edit this video until I'll get
00:35:43.680 00:35:43.690 back tomorrow so I hope you've had a
00:35:46.079 00:35:46.089 good weekend
00:35:46.920 00:35:46.930 and I hope you have a good week and
00:35:48.420 00:35:48.430 we'll catch you next week
